Once you've found the keywords and keyword phrases that describe your topic, then you need to do a search on one of the search engines to determine if the keyword is low competition. The lower the competition, the better chance you have of getting ranked high for your keyword.

Make sure you put your keyword phrase in quotes so you get accurate results. Use the following formula to help you decide if your keyword phrase is a good choice.

Results (the number of websites you found for that keyword)

Divided by Searches (the number of times a keyword is searched for)

The closer this number is to one, the better the search term. You'll have a better chance of getting ranked high for this keyword.
